Veranderingen in 1960 Entiteiten januari 1960: Actief 296, Verwijderd: 6, Afgevoerd: 3 De zoektocht naar DXCC Entiteiten gaat door De zoektocht naar “RARE” eilanden leverde ook wijziging op in de DXCC lijst van 1960. Cargados Carajos Shoals. die bij Mauritius hoorden, voldeden aan (Punt 2). En onder dezelfde noemer werd Willis Eiland, dat behoorde bij Australië toegevoegd. Later in 1960 kwamen daar nog de Auckland en Campbell eilanden en Minami Torishima, het vroegere Marcus Island. All deze nieuwe Entiteiten kregen als begindatum 15 november 1945. Alweer zoeken in de QSL verzameling, want misschien was er al een bevestiging van zo’n ‘New One’ te vinden. Cargados Carajos (VQ8) en Willis Islands (VK4) toegevoegd (QST januari 1960, (pagina 86)). Announcement is hereby made of the addition to the ARRL Countries List of Cargados Carajos, VQ8. Cargados Carajos Shoals is located in the Indian Ocean approximately 260 miles NNE of Mauritius. Announcement is also made of the addition to the ARRL Countries List of Willis Islands, VK4. The Willis Islands are located in the Coral Sea outside the Great Barrier Reef, Queensland, Australia and approximately 240 miles east of Port Douglas. Both of these additions are made by virtue of point 2 as explained in the July 1959 QST, page 84. QSO’s met Cargados Carajos en Willis Islands tellen vanaf 15 november 1945. De naam Cargados Carajos werd later veranderd in Agalega & Saint Brandon Island. De prefixen die daar nu gebruikt worden zijn 3B6 en 3B7 Auckland & Campbell (ZL/A) toegevoegd (QST April 1960, page 80) Announcement is hereby made of the addition to the ARRL Countries List of Auckland & Campbell Islands. Both of these islands are located in the Pacific Ocean south of New Zealand. Campbell Island is approximately 500 miles south of New Zealand, Auckland Island is about 150 miles closer. Confirmations from either of these places will count the same for DXCC credit. QSO’s met Auckland & Campbell (ZL/A) tellen vanaf 15 november 1945   De magische grens van 300 DXCC Entiteiten De DXCC lijst werd weer eens goed doorgespit. Dat leverde vijf nieuwe Entiteiten op. Wow weer nieuwe doelen voor de DX-jagers. Maar er sneuvelden ook vijf stuks, en die verdwenen naar de Deleted lijst. In de aankondiging in QST werden eerste de nieuwe Entiteiten opgesomd. De opsomming van die vijf nieuwe entiteiten was te lezen in QST september 1960, pagina 90 De eerste nieuwe was Marcus Island (Minami Torishima). Maar mogen we nu zeggen dat met Minami Torishima de grens van 300 DXCC Entiteiten werd overschreden. Marcus Island: Marcus Island is located in the Pacific Ocean approximately 700 miles due east of Iwo Jima. It is an isolated island neither attached to nor part of any island group. Confirmations for contacts with Marcus Island stations must be dated November 15, 1945 or later. De Franse kolonies in Afrika Franse Kolonies moesten volgens de Franse president Charles De Gaulle meer zeggenschap krijgen. Guinea had daar geen zin in, en was al een onafhankelijk land geworden. De Argentijnse oorlog, die al vanaf 1954 bezig was, was de oorzaak dat de andere Franse kolonies in Afrika veel vroeger onafhankelijk werden. Frans Equatorial Africa (FQ8) en Frans West Afrika (FN8) hielden op te bestaan. Deze twee landen werden aan de DXCC Deleted lijst toegevoegd. Voor Frans West Afrika gebeurde dat op 7 augustus 1960, en Frans Equatoriaal Afrika volgde op 17 augustus 1960. Er kwamen natuurlijk ook wat nieuwe op de DXCC lijst te staan. De Mali Federation (TZ) werd aan de DXCC lijst toegevoegd. De Mali Federation was een samensmelting van de koloniën Senegal en Frans Sudan. Die samenvoeging gebeurde op 4 april 1959. De Mali Federatie werd onafhankelijk op 20 juni 1960. De Mali Federatie werd daamee Entiteit 301 van de DXCC lijst. Mali Federation: The Mali Federation is located in West Africa and includes the Senegal and Sudanese Republics. The territories of Senegal and French Sudan have in the past been considered as parts of the French West Africa listing. On June 20, 1960, the Mali Federation became independent and no longer can be considered as part of the French West Africa listing. The Mali Federation separates areas that have been identified with the French West Africa listing. This change places Mauritania, one portion of the French West Africa listing, to the west and several other areas to the east. While it is expected that there will be further changes in the French West Africa listing, at the present time those areas to the east of the Mali Federation will continue to be creditable toward the French Africa listing. Confirmations for contacts with Mali Federation stations must be dated June 20, 1960 or later. Mauritanië (5T), dat een deel was van Frans West Afrika, werd ook op 20 juni 1960 onafhankelijk Mauritania: Mauritania was previously considered as part of the French West Africa listing. By virtue of the separation by the Mali Federation and in accord with point 3 of our published criteria (See May 1955 QST, page 68, and July 1959 QST, page 84), Mauritania is now a separate listing. Op 1 juli 1960 werd de onafhankelijkheid bekend gemaakt van Ruanda-Urundi. Het nieuwe land kreeg als prefix 9U. Ruanda-Urundi: Previously considered for DXCC purposes to be with the Belgian Congo because of its administrative attachment to the Belgian Congo, Ruanda-Urundi will, as of July 1, 1960, be considered as a separate listing. Ruanda-Urundi is a UN Trust Territory administrated by Belgium. QSO’s met Ruanda-Urundi stations zijn geldig voor DXCC vanaf 1 juli 1960 Brits en Italiaans Somaliland In mei 1960 verklaarde de Britse overheid dat ze bereid waren het protectoraat British Somaliland haar onafhankelijkheid te willen verlenen, samen met het Somalische gebied dat bestuurd werd door Italië. De Italianen gingen akkoord en op 1 juli 1960 werd in Mogadishu Somaliland een onafhankelijke republiek. Somalia Republic): The Somalia Republic came into being as of July 1, 1960. It comprises the two former listings of British Somaliland and Italian Somaliland. Confirmations for contacts with Somalia Republic stations must be dated July 1, 1960 or later. The Deletions (QST september 1960, pagina 90) Announcement is hereby made of the deletion of the following five listings from the ARRL's Countries List. British Somaliland (VQ6) and Italian Somaliland: (I5) In view of the formation of the Somalia Republic by the combining of these two areas and since such areas no longer exist, these two listings are deleted for crediting purposes. QSO’s met beide Entiteiten (VQ4 en I5) zijn geldig tot en met 30 juni 1960. Karelië (UN1), de Karelo-Finnish republic, werd door Rusland toegevoegd aan de Oblast Leningrad. Dat gebeurde op 16 juli 1956.Omdat Karelië pas op 1 juli 1960 is toegevoegd aan de Deleted list, zijn QSO’s geldig voor het DXCC tot 30 juni 1960. Karelo-Finnish Republic: (UN1) Because of an earlier action of the Supreme Soviet incorporating the Karelo- Finnish Republic into the Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic, its status is changed. For DXCC crediting purposes, contacts with those stations in the Karelo-Finnish area made July 1, 1960 or later will be considered as creditable to the European Russian Soviet Federated Socialistic Republic listing. QSO’s met Karelo-Finnish Republic (UN1) zijn dus geldig tot en met 30 juni 1960. DX is !! Tangier (CN2): In as much as the Tangier area of Morocco is now considered an integral part of Morocco, For DXCC crediting purposes, contacts with those stations in the Tangier area of Morocco made July 1, 1960 or later will be considered as creditable to the Morocco listing i.e. CN8, CN9. De enclave Tanger (CN2) hield op te bestaan als internationale vrijhandelszone in 1956, en kwam toen onder bestuur van Marokko. Maar pas op 1 juli 1960 werd Tangier Deleted verkaard. Door de ARRL QSO’s met Tangiers (CN2) zijn daarom geldig tot en met 30 juni 1960 Wrangel Island: This deletion is made in view of the fact Wrangel Island meets none of the published criteria for separate status. Since no one has ever received DXCC credit for Wrangel Island, its deletion will affect no one's total. This deletion is effective immediately. Wrangel Island werd afgevoerd (Withdrawn) van de DXCC lijst, maar kwam niet terecht op de Deleted lijst. Niemand had een QSO met hete eiland kunnen maken, en het eiland was Russisch grondgebied. This announcement supersedes footnote 5 on the ARRL Operating Aid No. 7 (Rev 8/59) and the DXCC Note in the June 1958 issue of QST relative to the Cayman Island listing. Confirmations for contacts with the Cayman Islands (VP5) or contacts dated November 15, 1945 or later will be creditable as a separate listing. Ha, de ARRL was dus in 1958 iets te snel geweest met het plaatsen van de melding dat de Kaaiman Eilanden en Jamaica als een Entiteit geteld moesten worden. Maar de ARRL was vergeten de Entiteit te verplaatsen naar de Deleted Vijftig jaar later gebeurde het nogmaals dat een Entiteit per vergissing verwijderd werd uit de DXCC lijst. (Midway Island en Kure Island ). Maar dat is alweer een ander verhaal. Nog meer Franse kolonies worden afhankelijk Nog was het niet afgelopen met de veranderingen op de DXCC lijst. Het voormalige Frans Soedan en Senegal waren samen doorgegaan als de Mali-Federatie. In augustus volgde de onafhankelijkheid van de Frans Afrikaanse koloniën. Dahomey op 1 augustus 1960, Niger op 3 augustus 1960, Upper Volta op 6 augustus 1960, Ivoorkust op 7 augustus, Tschad op 11 augustus, Centraal Afrikaanse Republiek op 13 augustus 1960, Congo Republiek (Congo Brazzaville) op 15 augustus 1960 en Gabon op 17 augustus 1960. Een paar landen kregen later een andere naam. Dahomey werd Benin, en Upper Volta werd Burkina Faso. Eight additions and two deletions in French African possession (QST oktober 1960, pagina 92) Announcement is hereby made of eight new and separate additions to the ARRL's Countries List. DXCC credit claims may be made for these eight starting December 1, 1960. Claims for any of these eight received before December 1, 1960 will be returned without credit. Four of these additions concern Republics formerly contained in the French West Africa listing. DXCC credit can be claimed toward the French West Africa listing for contacts made with the Dahomey, Niger, Voltaic, and Ivory Coast Republics prior to their independence dates listed above. DXCC credit can be claimed toward the French Equatorial Africa listing for contacts made with Chad, Central African, Congo, and Gabon Republics prior to their independence dates listed above. De Deleted list toont echter 16 augustus 1960 als de laatste datum voor credits van FQ8. En voor FN8 is de datum 31 oktober 1954. DX is !! Met al deze verandering werd 1960 het jaar dat de meeste wijzigingen in de DXCC lijst zijn aangebracht, Dat waren 23 wijzigingen verdeeld in 16 nieuwe en 6 verwijderde Entiteiten en een afgevoerde Entiteit.
